Recap and Today's Focus: Last time, we looked broadly at psilocybin. Now, let's talk about micro-dosing. Microdosing is like dipping your toe into psilocybin, not diving in. Small amounts of this powerful substance can augment your daily life, guiding you to your goals and higher self. 


Chapter 1: Microdosing Fundamentals


The What and How: So, what is a microdose? As you may have guessed, microdose, in simple terms, means “small dose.” Typically, it's about 0.1 to 0.5 grams, and the amount will depend on the strain, how it was grown, and what substrate it was grown on. These factors determine the level of alkaloids and chemical compounds in the medicine. So, when you decide which product to take, start small and work your way up in dose. Ideally, you want to be just under the level that you cannot tell, physically or mentally, that you are taking a psychedelic; this is what it means to microdose.


Interactive Exercise: Let's imagine your typical day. Now, add a microdose to the mix. How would it change your approach to daily tasks or your mood throughout the day? When you go to exercise and microdosing, how will that help you know about your advancement? Will it help you achieve visualization of your goals and accelerate you into the zone?

The Research So Far: Science is still catching up, but many studies and significant anecdotal evidence suggest microdosing could boost creativity, mood, and focus—a natural way of enhancement. Evidence also indicates that psilocybin mushrooms deactivate some of the default processes of your brain while creating new neural pathways. This allows communication between portions of your brain that would typically not interact in such a way. In doing so,  your brain increases overall activity, boosting your mood.

Chapter 3: Microdosing in Daily Life


Real-Life Integration: As we briefly discussed earlier, microdosing isn't standardized. It's crucial to tune it to your unique rhythm before a workday, before exercise, or to enhance your meditation session.

Personal Insights: microdosing in the morning gave my day a gentle kickstart. It is similar to having a cup of coffee that tunes your brain rather than simply stimulating your central nervous system. For me, I used to be highly chaotic and sporadic with my thoughts, unable to focus on what I wanted to achieve. Even when I did start to use psychedelics, I didn't give much thought to how I wanted to use the sacred medicine, what I wanted to achieve, or other things I needed to do to have the highest level of success. Initially, I didn't plan for healing and success while taking them; I just went on a whim, wondering if psychedelics could help me. From my personal experience, one of my favorite sayings is, “psychedelics will not save you, but psychedelics will help you save yourself.”


Chapter 4: Responsible Use and Guidelines


Safety and Legality: It is critical to mention that psilocybin is not legal everywhere. And, like all powerful things, it demands respect. Before you try to use any psychedelic, research the effects it could have on medications you take, disorders or diseases you have, and any other factors that the use of psilocybin could harm. Consulting with a doctor will be the best course of action before starting psychedelic treatment. As mentioned, start with a low dose, stay safe, ask questions, consult a doctor, and ensure you have resources available for help.
